NATURE AND LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

1.Revere Massachusetts Sunrise. Took this in August of 2006. I used my Fuji digital camera. The view is from the parlor window of my sister's condo on Revere Beach. It was about six in the morning.

2. Mount Carmel Church in my hometown of Pittsfield, MA, is a lovely example of Spanish Mission style architecture. The first thumbnail leads to a full view of the church, while the second thumbnail will bring you to a closeup of the front with its ornate portaco and its beautiful rose window.

3. Old Pittsfield City Hall, also in my hometown of Pittsfield, is what I believe to be an example of Federalist Style architecture. As you can see from the date plate, the structure was erected in 1832, during what was possibly the style's heyday. Beware: this image is in high resolution and anyone with dial up may have time to attend to some chores while waiting for it to load.

4. Saint Mary's Church, also in my hometown of Pittsfield, MA, is another great example of Spanish Mission style architecture. The first thumbnail leads to a full view of the church, while the second thumbnail will bring you to a closeup of the front. This was the church of my childhood. Made my First Holy Communion there, was confirmed there, and was an altar boy and and usher there.

5. Pittsfield City Hall This is the "new" Pittsfield City Hall. It was once the U.S. Post Office for the town. The style, if I'm not mistaken, is mostly Romanesque. Note the arched doorways and the smooth columns. Also, the Greeks didn't place walls close to the columns; the Etruscans did, who were to become the Romans. The poster adorning the front is of Stephanie D. Wilson, a woman astronaut who was from Pittsfield.
